Absolutely not Tank, I was simply stating the linguistic similarities between some radio operators and the average African-american welfare recipient with a microphone... That's all..

And Elwood, keep up the good work, I still can't hear you!

I believe ( my own opinion only for the fractions of a penny it's worth )
that running a mobile loud and dirty has its place.
I'm not saying its a good thing....
As for a base station shooting DX, some of the best sounding stations/ operators on the bowl are not running a bleed or splatter box.
I have learned alot by listening to others and not talking as much as I would like.
Motor mouth Maul uses significant power, 10kw etc, on the bowl from a hanger at an airport.
Imagine the rf issues that would present if he was dirty.

83 im not picking on ya, but just because you have been using junk for X number of years doesn't make you the foremost expert on what sounds good.
Yeah I run some watts using a C class trash box Dave made.
It's no surprise that it was the culprit in a recent investigation by the FED's, However I dont run it from my base in a neighbor hood either.
Until real mosfet power is obtainable from the home 20, tubes are my final answer to a cleaner station amoungst other things an operator can do to emitt a friendly signal.
Im back to the trees and reading the mail.

I also used to talk off of a guys Galaxy Saturn basestation way back in the day. that was a cool radio. I was looking through a webpage and decided I wouldn't mind having a GALAXY with am/fm/ssb. I don't know anything about them but they look alright.

edit: but after looking up the prices of the higher end galaxy's I know Ive seen some pretty nice used all mode HF transceivers for not much more that will do a bunch more. now Im in a bind.

Back on topic
My 95t-2 is a big radio similar to the 98, its not a clean radio in the slightest, im not sure I would consider using it on 10 meter other than to listen.
Nice power and a neat AM sound however.
